- Actively engages in discipleship and mentorship of Middle School students.
- Provides oversight, leadership, and ensures the ongoing effectiveness of Middle School students and programs.
- Serves to support and resource parents as they fulfill their responsibility as the primary spiritual influence of their children in partnership with the Pastor of Families.
- Administers all aspects of the Middle School Program
- Sunday School (recruit volunteers, supervise, and teach)
- Weekly large and small group meetings
- Plan monthly social/outreach events
- Plan quarterly service projects
- Plan occasional retreats, camping, and mission trips
- Actively disciple a core group of student leaders
- Assists with the High School Program.
- Coordinates consistent communication with students, parents, volunteers, church staff, and the broader congregation, including social media engagement.
- Recruits and trains adult volunteers for ministry.
- Plans and organizes two trips/retreats per year (Fall and Summer)
- Assists the Family Pastor and High School Director with the transition to High School (Confirmation) class.
- Establishes relationships with families and parents of youth involved in ministry programs to assist in resourcing and equipping parents as primary disciples, and develops a Parental Advisory Group to assist with vision and direction.
- Proactively pursues students (both connected and yet to connect with PCC) in life events and mentoring opportunities outside specific church programs (attending school activities, family events, breakfast/coffee, etc.) daily.
- Attends staff meetings and other staff functions.
- Partners with the Family Ministries team to ensure cross-collaboration along with coordination and alignment with all PCC ministries.
- Establishes the budget and tracks the finances designated for middle school ministries.
- Coordinates joint youth activities with other churches and ministries such as Young Life as appropriate.
- Maintains the safety policy and background check requirements for all youth ministry volunteers in partnership with the Family Ministry Team.
- Actively work to ensure the safety of all persons through diligence and implementation of all policies, procedures, and rules.
- Lead/Co-Lead Small Groups, i.e. chaperone at off-site camps
- Assist in managing the Student Ministry Social Media

- Understanding of the stages of pre-teen & teen development. Can enjoy the complexity of student ministry.
- Has a heart and passion for children of all ages and demonstrates patience in working with them.
- Outgoing with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Assist in championing the vision and values of Student Ministry throughout the church.
- Has a burning desire to share the Gospel and see students take one step closer to Jesus.
- Understands and can effectively minister in the Bay Area where less than 3% of the Peninsula is aware of a Christian worldview.
- Ability to lead small groups.
- Bachelor’s degree or greater preferred (current college enrollment is acceptable).
- Minimum one year of related experience.
- Ability to lead worship is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to interact and engage with school-aged youth
- Must be able to lift, transport, and set up equipment up to 30 pounds
- Extensive walking on 14 acres campus required, including stairs
- Must have a clean, current DMV record
- DOJ, FBI, and CACI clearance required
- Must adhere to and model PCC’s Safe Church policies
- This job is full-time with an average of 40 hours per week
- This position will be expected to work on Sundays
- This position will be expected to work when students are available which can include evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
