The Young Adult Ministry Leader will implement a comprehensive program of Christian life development for the 18 – 32 year old, college, career, single and married adults in our community. It is essential that this person be able to connect with young adults on a social and spiritual level, with the intent of coaching them towards Christ-like maturity. Under the supervision of the Family Ministry Director, this person is the staff point person for PCC’s Young Adult Ministry.
- In partnership with the Spiritual Formation Pastor develop the missional, spiritual and programmatic direction of Young Adult Ministry.
- Assist in recruiting, training and equipping a Young Adult Ministry team.
- Give leadership to Young Adult Ministry small groups, events, retreats, and/or mission trips.
- Incorporate an externally focused missional approach.
- Engage in regular prayer and reading to keep heart, soul and passion fresh.
- Develop ministry skills and personal leadership under the direction of the Spiritual Formation Pastor and on-going training/education.
- Provide organizational support to the Ministry including communications, meeting and events coordination, speaker recruitment, etc.
- Annual budget development and maintenance.
- Lead volunteer young adult leadership team
- Communication, coordination and integration with PCC’s other ministries
- Profess Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior
- Commitment to God-honoring professionalism, personal spiritual growth, and healthy lifestyle.
- Model standards and expectations of church leaders within our fellowship, including worship attendance, small group participation, lifestyle of generosity, and serving out of call and giftedness
- Problem-solving skills must include the ability to foresee the effects of decisions made on other staff, students, and other ministries of the church.
- Strong interpersonal skills are needed to administer and effectively synchronize the ministry activities.
- Skilled in motivating, recruiting, equipping, and encouraging volunteers
- Communicate well in large and small group settings
- Articulate visionary insight to overall ministry
- Act as a catalyst for others to evangelize
- Help young adults recognize their God-given calling
- Undergraduate degree required or comparable ministry, outreach, theological, or young-adult leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching Scripture, developing volunteers, and building relational ministry is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to interact and engage with young adults
- Ability to maneuver throughout the 16-acre campus and Worship building, including multi-level stairs, confined backstage spaces, and uneven surfaces in varying weather conditions.
- Must have a clean, current DMV record
- Must adhere to PCC’s Safe Church policies, including mandatory background check.
- This job is Part-time with an average of 15 hours per week.
- This position will be expected to work occasional weekends and evenings.
